NEONATAL ICU (NICU)
Everyone looks forward to the birth of a baby as a healthy, joyous event. Yet in those cases where a newborn is premature or has medical problems, it's reassuring to know that knowledgeable specialists and advanced equipment are at hand. It begins with a team that includes your obstetrician, anesthesiologist, labor and delivery nurse, pediatrician and nenonatal intensive care nurse. It also includes the reassurance that comes with our Level II intensive care nursery and a neonatologist on-call around the clock.
JFK Memorial Hospitals 11 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides comprehensive care for preemies and other high-risk infants. Since it is located rigtht next to the Labor and Delivery areas, we can help get a newborn right into treatment if needed. The neonatal team includes neonatologists, registered nurses, respiratory care practitioners, occupational therapist, social workers, and discharge planner.
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Includes:
- Ventilation support for newborns who require assistance breathing on their own
- Tube Feeding
- Cardiopulmonary Monitoring
- NICU Aftercare
- Lactation Specialist
- 24 Hour Visitation

High Risk Infant Follow-Up Program
The High Risk Infant Follow-Up Program at JFK Memorial Hospital provides comprehensive developmental follow-up to eligible graduates of the neonatal intensive care unit. Our multidisiciplinary team provides infant development assessment, parent support and family education. We work closely with your pediatrician and other medical professionals involved in the care of your child to promote optimal growth and development.\
Visiting Hours for NICU are:
Parents, grandparents, and significant others may visit between 8:00a.m. and 6:30p.m. and 8:00p.m. to 6:30a.m. No one under the age of 14 years may visit.
